New Blog!

Starting a blog is a little daunting but we would love to keep you up to date on  life at Park Top Farm & the Caravan and Camping Site!

Summer3Summer is here and we have had some lovely weather and we have now planted up the site with some colourful geraniums which are definitely brightening things up.

Pink BalesOn the way to the site from Richmond, you may spot some pink bales in the field!  These are silage bales which are used to feed the cattle and sheep in the winter – some lucky campers where here in June when we gathered in the grass to make the bales and the weather was beautiful.  The reason they are pink is to support the breast cancer now campaign by giving a donation with the pink wrap.  It’s a really visible way to both raise awareness and funds for this cause and we think its a great idea.

StrawThings are a little quieter at the moment for Ken, having led in the last of the barley straw which will be used to keep the cattle comfy in the winter months.

Its a lovely time of year here, with all the stock out in the fields enjoying the long days of summer and that goes for us as well.  Chris is currently busy getting some crafty entries ready for our local show in Reeth.  This takes place on August Bank Holiday Monday – 29th – and is a really lovely traditional dales show only 6 miles from the site and well worth a visit.  You can get more details from their website:  http://www.reethshow.co.uk
